Dallas Cowboys Franchise History
In the ‘70s, shortly after the Super Bowl era began, Tom Landry established Dallas as one of the NFL’s premiere teams. Behind Landry, the Cowboys appeared in five Super Bowls, winning two.
Hall of Famer Roger Staubach was Landry’s quarterback for both Super Bowl victories. After its 1978 Super Bowl title, Dallas took a hiatus from winning championships until the early ‘90s.
During this era, the Cowboys cemented themselves as one of the NFL’s most dominant dynasties. The quartet of Jimmy Johnson, Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, and Michael Irvin claimed back-to-back titles in ’93 and ’94.

Since the ‘90s’ dynasty, the Cowboys have suffered from a severe case of mediocrity under an intense microscope. Critics of Dallas’ owner, Jerry Jones, point to his uniquely outspoken nature as the main reason the Cowboys operate under constant media scrutiny.
Betting on the Dallas Cowboys in Texas

Gustafson, along with plenty of Texas big-wigs, believe 2023 will be the year when legal sports betting comes to fruition.
Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, even stated to the Dallas Morning News that “the handwriting’s on the wall.”
If legal sports betting does make its way to Texas, bettors can expect to see something like this at the betting window:

In this example, the Cowboys are favored over their division rival, the New York Giants, by 7.5 points. A Cowboys bettor needs at least an 8-point victory from Dallas.
If the Cowboys win by fewer than 8, or lose, the Giants cover the spread and Cowboys’ spread bets settle as losses.
