The team has been a part of two recognized dynasties, one from 1947 to 1951 and one from 1962 to 1967. They won their last championship in 1967, making the current drought that the Maple Leafs is in the longest current one in the NHL.

The Maple Leafs has four rivalries established with other NHL teams: the Boston Bruins, the Montreal Canadiens, the Detroit Red Wings, and the Ottawa Senators.
