The Dodgers are listed as surprisingly short -135 favorites over Miami in this contest, as Los Angeles enters Friday riding an impressive 11-game win streak, while Miami enters following back to back losses.

The total for this matchup is stationed at OU 8.5, which is one of the smaller over-unders on tonight's MLB board, which comes as no surprise as we prepare for an excellent pitching matchup between Sandy Alcantara (5-10, 4.09 ERA) and Tony Gonsolin (8-4, 4.24 ERA).

MIAMI MARLINS vs. LOS ANGELES DODGERS BETTING PREDICTION

If the Marlins are going to make the playoffs, they'll have to win on the road, and they'll have to compete with the top teams in the league.

Both of those factors will be on the line here in their trip to Los Angeles, and in a competitive opening contest that will likely be decided late, or even in extra innings, we're going to grab the hungry Fish in this one.

Alcantara is coming off his strongest outing of the year, as he surrendered just one run and stuck out ten in a complete-game victory over the Yanks.

It would appear that Alcantara has plenty left in the tank here now for a final push to the season. He owns a 1.69 ERA over his last four trips to the hill. However, he hasn't fared well against LA in the past, but in this case, let's just leave the past in the rearview mirror and focus on the current situation.

Tony Gonsolin counters for the home side, and he's coming off a strong outing against the Rockies, allowing one run over six innings.

After 11 straight wins, there's a good chance that we'll see the Dodgers get lured into complacency at some point. No such luxury for the hungry Marlins though.
